Dr. Keon W. Kang, a nuclear medicine physician, is a professor and the Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Seoul National University College of Medicine. He received an M.D. degree from Seoul National University College of Medicine (1991). He received Ph.D. in Medical Science at Seoul National University College of Medicine (2001). He has worked as Chief, Department of Nuclear Medicine, National Cancer Center, Korea (2000- 2007). He studied molecular imaging at Pf. Sam Gambhir’s lab as a visiting scientist of Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (2003-2004). His research areas are in vivo molecular imaging & nanomedicine.


Dr. Ming-Chi Shih graduated in medicine from the University of Sao Paulo (1994-2000), and completed his medical residency in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology (2001-2007). He then received his PhD in Neurosciences from Federal University of Sao Paulo (2004- 2006). Dr. Shih has served as a Research Associate-Assistant professor at Department of Radiology, The University of Chicago (2008-2013). He also served as a Researcher at the Israel Institute of Education and Research Albert Einstein (2003-2013). Currently Dr. Shih is an Affiliated Professor at Department of Psychiatry, Federal University of Sao Paulo. Dr. Shih has experience in the area of medicine, with emphasis on Molecular Imaging in Nuclear Medicine & Radiology; and Exploration of new diagnostics imaging in neuroscience, cardiology and Oncology areas.

Dr. Liao received her M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan in 2000 and 2011, respectively. Dr Liao was promoted to Associate Researcher in 2008 and also appointed to be the deputy director of Isotope Application Division at Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER). Dr Liao’s research is involved diagnostic nuclear medicine in neurology and regulation of IND and NDA for new drug development.

Prof. Zhonghua Sun is a Professor and Discipline Lead of Medical Radiation Sciences at Curtin University, Australia. His research interests include diagnostic imaging, 3D medical image visualization and processing (in particular cardiovascular CT data), haemodynamic analysis of cardiovascular disease and 3D printing in medicine. He has published 4 books, 12 book chapters, and over 230 refereed journal papers in medical/medical imaging journals. He is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and overseas Fellow of Royal Society of Medicine. He serves as an associate editor for 4 journals and editorial board member for more than 30 international imaging/medical journals.

Dr. Giuseppe De Vincentis, M.D., Ph.D., has more than 25 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Nuclear Medicine, in the Department of Radiological, Oncological and Pathological Sciences, at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He has authored/co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, 10 proceedings articles, more than 100 abstracts and several invited lectures, dealing with several fields of application of nuclear medicine techniques, such as cardiology, pneumology, muscular disease, oncology, clinical application of new imagers, therapeutical applications of alpha emitters nuclides (TaT), etc.

Dr. Luca Filippi works as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist in the Nuclear Medicine Department of “Santa Maria Goretti” Hospital in Latina (Italy). He is an adjunct professor of Technology in Medical Science at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Dr. Filippi's main field of interest is the clinical and translational application of imaging with PET/SPECT probes for the identification of pathology (tumors and neurodegenerative disorders) at a molecular level. More recently, he focused on theranostics, the medical discipline combining diagnostics and target-therapy. Dr. Filippi serves as reviewer for several international journals and has over 80 scientific contributions.

Gang Liu received his MD degree from North Sichuan Medical College (China) in 2002 and PhD degree from Sichuan University (China) in 2009. Subsequently, He focused his training on nanomedicine and molecular imaging at the National Institutes of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, National Institutes of Health. In 2012, he joined the Center for Molecular Imaging and Translational Medicine, Xiamen University. Currently he is a Full Professor of Biomedical and Bioengineering and his research interests include biomaterials, theranostics, and molecular imaging.




Guy Cloutier obtained his B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering (84), and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (86, 90). Between the years 90-92, he was a post-doctoral fellow at The Pennsylvania State University with Prof. K. Kirk Shung. Dr. Cloutier is Director of the Laboratory of Biorheology and Medical Ultrasonics at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Center, Professor in the Department of Radiology, Radio-oncology and Nuclear Medicine, and Member of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Montreal. He has published more than 180 peer-reviewed articles in these fields, holds 12 patents, licensed two technologies, and was recipient of the National Scientist award of the Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Québec (2004-2009).

Dr. Cohen has a BA in Chemistry from Brooklyn College and an MD from SUNY-Downstate. He is a specialist in Ultrasound with ABR board certification and a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Pediatric Imaging.
He has attained fellowship status in the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
He is Chairman and Professor of Radiology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He is Radiologist-in-Chief at LeBonheur Children's Hospital. He is Editor-in-Chief of ACR's CPI educational modules (published 6x/year) and an Associate editor or on the editorial board of J Ultrasound Med, Ultrasound Quarterly, RadioGraphics and ACR's Case-in-Point.

Alberto Cuocolo is full professor of Diagnostic Imaging, director of the Nuclear Medicine and Sport Medicine Unit, director of the Specialization School in Nuclear Medicine and director of the Ph.D. Course in Biomorphological and Surgical Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II in Italy. He is author of more than 330 scientific publications and more than 50 book chapters. He served as president of the Section of Nuclear Medicine of the UEMS and of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine. He is associate editor of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, section editor of Current Cardiovascular Imaging Reports, and member of the editorial board of several scientific international journals.

Jens Frahm is Director of Biomedizinische NMR Forschungs GmbH (non-profit) at the Max-Planck-Institute for biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, Germany. His research focusses on the development and application of advanced MRI techniques for noninvasive studies of animals and humans. Already in 1985 his team invented the FLASH (fast low angle shot) MRI technique which allowed for a 100-fold reduction measuring times. Current advances mark another breakthrough toward real-time MRI, i.e. the recording of MRI movies of arbitrary physiologic processes at very high temporal resolution of 10 to 40 milliseconds.

Dr. Gambhir is the Virginia & D.K. Ludwig Professor of Cancer Research, Chairman of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine, and heads the Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Early Detection. He received his medical and doctorate degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, Medical Scientist Training Program. He has >575 publications in the field and >40 patents pending or granted. An internationally recognized researcher in molecular imaging with over $90 million of NIH funding. His lab has focused on interrogating fundamental molecular events in living subjects. He has developed and clinically translated several multimodality molecular imaging strategies.

David M. Goldenberg, Sc.D., M.D. is Founder and Chairman of Immunomedics, Inc. He also serves as Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Patent Officer of the company. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of IBC Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a subsidiary of Immunomedics. Dr. Goldenberg was also the founder and president of the Center for Molecular Medicine and Immunology, and its clinical unit, the Garden State Cancer Center.

Professor Andrea Laghi is Professor of Radiology at ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome and Medical Director of “Advanced Diagnostic Imaging” Unit at I.C.O.T. University Hospital, Latina/IT. He is also certified in Nuclear Medicine. His research interests lie in Abdominal Imaging and Oncology, including hybrid imaging. He currently is a member of the Executive Committee of ESGAR and ESOI, member of EIBALL, member of Award Committee of RSNA and he is the ESR representative in the EU Expert Group on Cancer Control and ESGAR delegate at the General Assembly of United European Gastroenterology (UEG). Prof. Laghi is Honorary Member of SEDIA, the Spanish Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, and of the Iranian Society of Radiology.

Prof. Adriaan A. Lammertsma, PhD, is head of research of the Department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine of the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam. He has been active in PET research since 1979, when he joined the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Hammersmith Hospital in London. He is the 2012 recipient of the Kuhl-Lassen Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine for “outstanding contributions to the advancement of molecular imaging” and the 2015 recipient of the ESMI Award from the European Society of Molecular Imaging for “his outstanding and excellent contributions to the field of Imaging Science, his commitment and dedication”. Adriaan Lammertsma is co-author of greater than 400 peer reviewed papers.


Dr Franca Podo, Laurea in Physics (DrSci) at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, has been for about thirty years Research Director at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS, Rome), where she acted as Head of the “Physical Biochemistry”and “Molecular and Cellular Imaging” Units. She has been Project Leader for three EU Concerted Actions on clinical applications of MRI/MRS; scientific coordinator of the High Breast Cancer Risk Italian studies (HIBCRIT) and PI of research projects on the significance of MRS signals as signatures of cancer metabolic reprogramming and response to treatment (177 publications, 26 book chapters; co-editor of five books).

Dr. Schober obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Physics from the Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany, and finished study of Medicine with a M.D.-Thesis at the Medical School Hannover, Germany. He has published more than 600 scientific publications. Dr. Schober is full Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Münster, Germany. Dr. Schober is also Member and Delegate for Scientific Academies (acatech, National Academy of Science and Engineering; Union of the German Academy of Sciences and Humanities). Dr. Schober was the founding Director of the European Institute for Molecular Imaging (2007). He was and is Editor-in-Chief and Board member of different scientific Journals.

Thomas D. Scholz, M.D., is a pediatric cardiologist. He did post-doctoral training in the Laboratory of Cardiac Energetics at NIH from 1991-1993 before joining the The University of Iowa in 1993. He has held several leadership positions at Iowa including Interim Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics from 2011-2013 and Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Vice President of Research from 2013-2016. He currently serves as Director, Division of Child and Community Health, where he oversees grants and contracts totaling close to $10 million per year to support services for children and youth with special health care needs.

Dr. Ge Wang is Clark & Crossan Chair Professor and the Director of the Biomedical Imaging Center, RPI, USA. He authored the papers on the first spiral/helical cone-beam/multi-slice CT algorithm. Currently, there are over 100 million medical CT scans yearly with a majority in the spiral cone-beam mode. He pioneered bioluminescence tomography. His group published the first papers on interior tomography and omni-tomography (“all-in-one”) to acquire diverse datasets simultaneously (“all-at-once”). His results were featured in Nature, Science, and PNAS, and recognized with awards. He wrote >430 peer-reviewed journal publications. He is Dellow of the IEEE, SPIE, OSA, AIMBE, AAPM, and AAAS.

Prof R. S. Hegadi obtained PhD in Medical Image Segmentation and Analysis under the guidance of Dr. B. V. Dhandra, in the Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. He is presently serving as a Professor and Head Department of Computer Science at Solapur University, Solapur. His areas of research are Digital image processing, Computer vision, Medical image analysis, Document image analysis, Biometrics, Data and image mining. He has contributed in 66 international journals having citations around 741. He also attended 57 international and 7 national conferences.

Dr. Hong Lin received his PhD in Computer Science and was a postdoctoral research associate at Purdue University, an assistant research officer at the National Research Council, Canada, and a software engineer at Nokia, Inc. Dr. Lin is currently a professor in University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Houston, TX. His research interests include data analytics, human-centered computing, and parallel/distributed computing. He is a senior member of the ACM.
